Wave and Flame captures the fleeting moment when the last light of day set the horizon ablaze along Kauai’s rugged northern shore. The Pacific surged against the rocks, each wave carving new lines through the scene. A long exposure softened the motion into flowing ribbons of white that guided the eye toward a radiant burst of orange and gold at the edge of the world.
The contrast of fire and water defines this image — the warmth of the sunset against the cool blue tones of the sea. Standing low at the shoreline, timing each exposure between crashing waves, the balance between chaos and calm became the essence of the composition.
Each limited-edition print is signed and numbered, crafted with archival inks and museum-grade materials to preserve the vivid tones and fine details of this coastal sunset.
