Shrouded Summit
Yosemite National Park, California
Shrouded Summit was captured from Yosemite Valley as winter clouds and mist moved through the granite walls after a storm. I used a longer focal length to isolate Half Dome and compress the layers of forest and rock beneath it. Snow clung to the cliffs and trees, while a soft glow filtered through thinning clouds near the summit.
What drew me to this moment was the movement. The mist shifted constantly, revealing and concealing the upper face of Half Dome within seconds. The scene felt alive but restrained, dramatic without being loud. The snow softened the valley while the granite remained solid and timeless.
This limited-edition fine art print is produced using museum-quality materials to preserve the texture in the rock and the subtle tonal shifts in the mist. Each piece is personally overseen from capture through final production to ensure the print reflects the atmosphere of that winter morning in Yosemite.
