Winter Reflections
Yosemite National Park, California
Winter Reflections was captured along the Merced River near Southside Drive after a fresh snowfall settled across Yosemite Valley. I hiked down from the roadside pullout to reach the river’s edge, wanting a lower perspective that would fully capture the reflection of the Three Brothers in the still water.
The river was calm that morning, with a thin edge of forming ice along the bank. Snow covered the forest floor and clung to the pines, while patches of blue sky opened above the granite peaks. The reflection created balance in the composition, doubling the presence of the rock formation and giving the scene depth and symmetry.
This limited-edition fine art print is produced using museum-quality materials to preserve the clarity of the reflection, the texture of the snow, and the warm tones within the granite. Each piece is personally overseen from capture through final production to ensure the print reflects the quiet stillness of winter in Yosemite Valley.
