Snowbound Brothers
Yosemite National Park, California
Snowbound Brothers was captured along Southside Drive in Yosemite Valley shortly after a winter storm. Fresh snow covered the valley floor and clung to the pine trees, creating contrast against the exposed granite of the Three Brothers formation. Low clouds drifted across the upper ridges, partially concealing the highest peak and adding depth to the scene.
I was drawn to the strong diagonal line of the rock face rising above the forest. The tall pines in the foreground provide scale and anchor the composition, while the snow softens the landscape and highlights the texture in the stone. The atmosphere that morning felt calm but powerful, with shifting mist revealing new detail every few moments.
This limited-edition fine art print is produced using museum-quality materials to preserve the detail in the granite and the fine texture of the snow-covered trees. Each piece is personally overseen from capture through final production to ensure the print reflects the quiet strength of Yosemite in winter.
